Shangri-La is the artistic area of the festival and is curated by an amazing group of volunteers, artists, carpenters, thinkers and activists who come together to create a magical experience for the festival goers.
This year's theme was TRUTH and LIES, and the CONSUME series was featured front and center in everything from animation, to the logo, to posters and badges, to even the drink tickets. My Brexit themed art of Boris Johnson and David Cameron ignited the emotions while the Brexit vote took place during the festival. My iCONSUME series also called into question the reliance on cell phones and the control in which these devices have on our society (as evidenced by Pokemon Go). In addition I released a brand new series of art inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm which put pop culture and politics back in the barn where some of it certainly belongs. All of these pieces flooded Shangr-La in various forms including printed posters as well as animated videos that played with the music morning, noon and night.
